Wrinkle Relaxation Therapy

Botulinum Toxin Type A is a product that has been used within medicine for many years due to its vast number of applications.  As well as treating increased perspiration, overactive bladders and releasing tight tendons in children with cerebral palsy it has become a very popular minimally invasive facial aesthetics treatment.

Botulinum toxin can be used to relax fine lines and wrinkles without surgical intervention.  The treatment blocks the nerve signals to certain facial muscles so they are unable to contract, resulting in a smoother appearance of the affected area.

Treatment involves a number of small injections and only takes a few minutes to carry out.

The effects can start to be seen within 72 hours although it takes up to two weeks for the full result to appear

The effects of wrinkle relaxation therapy vary from one person to another although usually last between 3 and 6 months. Some research has shown that with repeated treatment the interval between injections becomes longer.

Dermal Filler Treatment

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring moisturising product found within the body which contributes to the healthy appearance of the skin. Over time, the amount of hyaluronic acid within the skin diminishes which can lead to an increase in the development of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dermal filler products can help to replace the lost volume of the skin leading to a reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles and resulting in a more youthful appearance.   They can also be used to add contour and volume to the lips and cheekbones.

Treatment usually involves the administration of local anaesthetic cream to the area or placement of local anaesthetic similar to a dental injection.

The dermal filler is then comfortably administered into the treatment area.

The effects of a skin plumping treatment can last between 6 and 8 months depending on individual circumstances
